This is a Medal (Stroke Play) competition, and each team must consist of four players.
To determine the team Stroke Allowance COURSE Handicaps are used. The percentages below are England Golf mandatory allowances:
· For 4 players: 25% low/20%/15% /10% High.
· Example: Player 1Handicap 10 X 25% = 2.5, Player 2 Handicap 15 X 20% = 3, Player 3 Handicap 25 X 15% = 3.75 and Player 4 Handicap 28 X 10% = 2.8.
· Team Stroke Allowance is sum of above, which equals 12.05; this is rounded to the nearest whole number giving 12.
For a team of 3 the allowances are 30% low/20%/10% high.
▪ A minimum of 4 tee shots per player to be used for a 4-person team.
▪ A minimum of 5 per player for a 3-person team.
▪ Any player may take the remaining tee shots.
▪ The maximum number of tee shots a player may have to comply with the rules above is 6 (for a team of 3 it is 8). To speed up play, players who have had their quota of tee shots, or whose cannot be used as holes are running out in which other team members need to meet their quotas, should refrain from playing further tee shots.
Your scorecard MUST indicate which players tee shot has been taken on each hole.
All players tee off at each hole. Select which drive to use and mark the position (not nearer the hole). The player whose ball was chosen does not play the next shot. The other players then play from within six inches of the marked ball (not nearer the hole). Golf balls must be placed (within 6 inches no nearer the hole) on closely mown areas and dropped (within 6 inches no nearer the hole) in all other areas.
The above method of play continues until the green is reached.
On the green a similar method applies, the ball chosen is marked and all players putt from the same spot in turn.
Note: If a player putts and just misses but then knocks the ball into the hole, then that is the score that must count, and the other players cannot putt out to improve the score.
At the end of the round the total for each hole is added together and the stroke allowance subtracted to give the total nett score for the round. The team with the lowest nett score wins.
Normal countback rules will apply. All Rules of Golf apply to the “Ball in Play”.
